Behind the Screen During Covid-19

I don’t know about you but starting this Monday, AGAIN, in quarantine or lockdown…whatever you want to call it, has me wanting to share more than usual. Maybe because we no longer have those daily connections, or I’ve been looking at the same four walls for a while now…heck, maybe I’m just going crazy!

I’m usually not one to share that much, especially personal details, but over the last fews weeks and several hours on tiktok, I’ve noticed there’s something to it. Not only are you extending yourself, but to think others don’t feel the same as you, isn’t true. People want to connect and they’re realizing that, although it comes with it’s own downside, we can connect through social media and it satisfies that need to be closer to the ones we love.

Watching how people show love and kindness during these hard times, warms my heart. If you’re looking for a break from the news, check out some of the feel-good videos online! I bet you’ll even find someone in your own city doing something nice for someone else.

Are you needing a good laugh right about now? It’s also great for that! You’ll for sure find some hilarious pictures and videos to put a smile on your face. I know I’ve needed that a lot more lately.

Despite our distance, we are all in this together and we will come out the other side OK. I’m hoping better than OK, I hope the kindness and compassion continues afterwards as some of us have been deeply affected by this disease; losing a loved one under these circumstances is difficult to digest. Remember that we never know what someone is dealing with from behind the screen and to think of the posts as real people seeking laughter and love.

Thank you especially to our first responders, health workers and everyone who steps out to heal and protect us, when we can’t. They are our heros and without them, we’d really have a big problem!
